Mobile deposit works in 5 easy steps

If you can take a picture, you can deposit your check. Here’s how.

STEP 1

Open Alabama Credit Union’s mobile banking app.

STEP 2

Select ‘Check Deposit’ from the ‘More’ menu.

STEP 3

Take photos (of the front and back) of your endorsed check.

STEP 4

Enter the deposit amount and choose your account.

STEP 5

Get confirmation of your deposit.

3. Write the words "mobile deposit", or check the corresponding check box that is printed on the back of most personal checks.

 

Mobile Check Deposit FAQs

How can I see the status of my mobile check deposit?

You can view the status of your mobile check deposit by logging into the Mobile App and tapping the Deposit icon. Select the Activity tab to view your recent deposits and their current status.

How long does it take for a mobile deposit to process?

Mobile deposits submitted before 2:00 PM on a business day are typically processed the same day and posted between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM.

Deposits submitted after 2:00 PM, on weekends, or on holidays will be processed the next business day.

When will my mobile deposit funds be avaiable in my account?

If your mobile check deposit is approved, it will typically be posted between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM on the applicable business day.

Please note the following availability guidelines:

  • The first $1,000 of your deposit may be available initially
  • Remaining funds are generally available within two business days, depending on review and processing

New Members (First 60 Days of Membership):

  • Up to $100 may be available immediately
  • Remaining funds are generally available after five business days. In some cases, extended holds may apply and will be communicated if needed.

How many checks can I deposit using Mobile Check Deposit?

You may deposit as many checks as needed through Mobile Deposit as long as you do not exceed the daily mobile deposit limit of $5,000. There is no limit on the number of checks, only the total daily dollar amount.

What checks are accepted for Mobile Check Deposit?

Mobile Deposit accepts most standard personal and business checks drawn on U.S. financial institutions. All checks must be properly endorsed and payable to the account holder.

Items not eligible for Mobile Check Deposit include:

  • Foreign checks
  • Money orders marked “Not for Mobile Deposit”
  • Beneficiary checks not deposited into the proper account
  • Starter checks without MICR line information
  • Loan checks
  • Comcheks (requires additional authorization)

Why is my mobile deposit on hold?

In some cases, we may place a mobile deposit on hold longer than the standard two-business-day timeframe. This may be due to account history, verification review, or other check processing requirements.

In these cases, an extended hold will be placed on the deposit. We will send a secure message with details about the hold and any available next steps. Release of funds is subject to review and is not guaranteed.
